British SIS (Secret Intelligence Services)

In The Hesperus Prophecy, the United Kingdom’s Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), also known as MI6, shares intel from their embedded network in Hamburg Germany. The details they provide, particularly the MS Schwabenland’s outfitting with ice-breaking equipment and supplies for a long voyage, set the Clypeate’s plans in motion.

The SIS gathers and analyzes intelligence to protect the UK from international threats, or in the case of the MS Schwabenland, disseminate to their allies. While the name Secret Intelligence Service was adopted in 1920, it wasn’t until WW II when the organization became known as MI6, the legendary home of James Bond.
