USS Milwaukee

In The Hesperus Prophecy, the Clypeate uses the USS Milwaukee to transport their team from Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia to the waiting SS Valencia in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The USS Milwaukee was part of the US Navy’s Omaha-class light cruisers built during the 1920s. While the ship was mostly assigned to the U.S. Battle Fleet, she spent WW II patrolling the South Atlantic for German naval activity. In 1944 she was loaned to the Soviet Union to patrol the Arctic Ocean. They renamed her the Murmansk, and when they returned her to the U.S. Navy in 1949 she was sold for scrap metal.
