Walter Reed Hospital

Walter Reed General Hospital opened in 1909. Named after Major Walter Reed, who discovered yellow fever was transmitted by mosquitoes, the campus expanded in 1923 to become the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The facility has treated hundreds of thousands of injured American soldiers, including Commander Kingston. The proximity to downtown Washington, DC, and the expert surgical staff, are the major reasons why Bruce survived his life-threatening injuries.
